Ellen Dougherty

Ellen is presently a member of the English faculty at the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates. She is a doctoral candidate in TESOL, cognate technology, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and holds an MA in Leadership from McGill University. For the past two years, Ellen, Dani, Nery and Vance have been working collaboratively implementing an iPad program on one of the campuses of the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates. They have been involved in all stages of program development: the proposal, implementation, and the continued integration of digital tools in the curriculum. The Higher Colleges of Technology was part of a country-wide initiative to implement iPads across the curriculum at the tertiary level three years ago.
Anthony and Mary Kay have been presenters at Apple conferences held in Dubai and were influential in setting up the iPad program.
